It is plausible that gut health is a major contributor and potential cause of PD. There are a couple of mechanisms by which an “unhealthy” gut can cause changes in the brain that lead to PD.

It’s possible that a modified keto diet that includes plenty of probiotics and prebiotics (like resistant starch) may be one of the best nutritional strategies for preventing and reducing the severity of PD because you’ll get the benefits of improved gut health, decreased inflammation, and ketone use.

Before you add in more carbs, I recommend plugging your info into the keto calculator:

https://www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/

And tracking your calories using a calorie tracking app. This article will show you what to use and how to do it:

https://www.ruled.me/carb-tracking-for-keto-diet/

By making sure you are eating the right amount of protein and fat every day, you will be able to keep your weight stable and build muscle.

The only reason why I don’t suggest increasing your carb consumption is because it’ll be much more difficult to maintain ketosis, and being in ketosis is what should help you with your symptoms even more.

Does that make sense? Please let me know if you have any other questions.
